# Creator FAQs

Straight answers for creators on joining, approval, earnings, Boosts, flags, bans, ownership and payouts.

## Joining

<details>

<summary>Is GIMI free to join?</summary>

Yes. Joining and submitting are free. You only pay, from your earnings, if you want to submit again to the same campaign or Boost a submission up a busy queue.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do I need a big following?</summary>

No. GIMI rewards good work and clean engagement, not follower count. Our sweet spot is everyday creators with 500 to 10,000 followers.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do I need to connect my social accounts?</summary>

No. Post on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn or Reddit, then paste the link when you submit. GIMI tracks the public numbers for that post.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What kind of content can I submit?</summary>

Whatever the brief asks for: UGC, reviews, clips, edits, memes, tutorials, short ads, AI films and more.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I use AI to make my content?</summary>

Yes, unless the brief excludes it. Low-effort content is filtered out whatever tool made it. See Using AI in your content.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I join sourcing, distribution and contest campaigns?</summary>

Yes. Sourcing asks for a file upload. Distribution asks you to post and submit the link. Contests have a deadline and winners and can use either format.

</details>

## Approval

<details>

<summary>How long does review take?</summary>

Brands have 5 days to review each submission. If they have not decided by then, it is approved automatically.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why was my post not approved?</summary>

The usual reasons: it does not match the brief, required tags or mentions are missing, it is low-effort or a duplicate, the post is private or deleted, or it breaks platform or GIMI rules. You always get a reason. See Submit your work.

</details>

<details>

<summary>The brand asked for an edit. What now?</summary>

Make the change they describe and resubmit. An edit request means you are close.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why has my Boosted content not been approved?</summary>

A Boost moves you up the queue and makes you more visible to the brand. It does not guarantee approval. If the submission misses the brief, it can still be declined.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Is the re-submission fee refunded if it is declined?</summary>

No. The re-submission fee exists to prevent spam and crowded queues.

</details>

## Earnings

<details>

<summary>How do I earn?</summary>

Each campaign sets its own rewards: a fixed bonus on approval, performance pay on distribution campaigns, Spotlight bonuses, or contest prizes. See Earnings and payouts.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why am I not earning from my post?</summary>

Posts start earning after approval. Distribution earnings update every 24 hours. If the post was flagged for suspicious growth, earnings pause until a person reviews it.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why is my contribution not earning on this campaign?</summary>

Usually the campaign's reward pool is used up. Once the budget is gone, new submissions cannot earn. Look for campaigns with budget left.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why did my viral post not get rewarded?</summary>

Either it was not submitted to a live campaign, or the engagement did not look genuine. Performance pay uses Clean Engagement, which can differ from the numbers you see on socials. A campaign can also cap the payout per post.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do follower counts matter for earnings?</summary>

No. What counts is approved work and genuine engagement.

</details>

## Flags and bans

<details>

<summary>Why was my content flagged for suspicious growth?</summary>

GIMI detects farmed and botted views and engagement, and separates real viral content from artificial activity. When it is unclear, a human moderator decides. If you think a flag is wrong, open a Discord ticket or email <support@gimi.co> with your profile link.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why was my post flagged for generic comments?</summary>

If most replies are identical copy-paste comments, or come from new or inactive accounts, it looks like bot activity.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why was my account banned?</summary>

Accounts are banned for engagement manipulation, including inflating engagement and then deleting posts to hide it. A banned account can no longer participate or earn. If you believe it is a mistake, contact <support@gimi.co>.

</details>

## Ownership and partners

<details>

<summary>Who owns my content?</summary>

The brand owns content it approves. Anything declined stays yours. You can keep an approved post live on your profile and show it in your portfolio. See Content ownership and rights.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What is a creator partner?</summary>

A creator a brand has chosen to keep. Partners get invite-only briefs and repeat work. See Creator partners.

</details>

## Getting paid

<details>

<summary>How do I get paid?</summary>

Request a payout from your profile once you reach $10. A 5% payout fee applies. Payouts are processed by our payment partners: Tipalti for bank, PayPal and local methods (depending on your country), or USDC on Base or Ethereum.

</details>

<details>

<summary>How are my earnings shown?</summary>

In US dollars in your account. You can request a payout, or use your earnings for re-submissions, Boosts and early access.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What happens if my account is inactive?</summary>

After 6 months with no login or submission, your account becomes inactive. We email you at least 30 days before. Earnings under $10 are cancelled. Earnings of $10 or more stay available to request.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do I pay tax on my earnings?</summary>

You are responsible for any tax on what you earn. For some payout methods our payment partner may ask for a tax number or identity documents.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Something is wrong with my payout.</summary>

Email <support@gimi.co> with your account name and email address.
